Abstract

Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi's Mesnevi (d: 672/1273) is translated as verse and prose for many times to many languages, and many notes were written on it from the time it was written. "Tercemanu'l-Mesnevi fi Tercemetü'l-Mesnevi" by Seyyid M. Şakir (d.1252-1836) is one of verse translations of the Mesnevi. It becomes important because of consisting whole translation of the Mesnevi. One of the manuscript copy of the translation is in Istanbul University Library. I will introduce, in this paper, a new copy of the translation in the Faculty of Letters Library at the Ankara University, a copy which mau written by the translator M. Şakir, and I will examine the identity of translator.
