Abstract

In this article we have firstly examined the hadith studies of the Ottoman era as a whole, and we observed that the hadith performances of the muhaddiths of that period to focus generally on the hadith sharhs and forty hadith literature. Then the manuscripts of the National Library of Turkey were examined in this context and we found out that most manuscripts are reflecting the Standard Ottoman hadith literature. Generally Bukhari's Sahih, Baghavi's Masabih, Saghani's Masharik, Nawawi's Forty Hadith and other hadith books are predominantly studied in the curriculum of madrasah and Daru'l-hadith; so the hadiths works of the National Library of Turkey seem to be parallelled to that of the Ottoman era in general. And this conclusion gives valuable clues for researches for getting to know the hadith activities of the Ottoman era; for example the most of the hadith Works of this period seem to consist of the sharhs on the canonical collection and also on Forty Hadith genre.
