Abstract

This paper tries to analyse Ferit Edgü's story "Çöl" which is one of the examples of short stories appeared after 1950s as a new literary genre called as flash fiction, short short story, sudden fiction, and fast plan in the world literature through its background culture. It is also tried to be analysed why Edgü, one of the leading figures of short short story genre in Turkish literature and his generation approached to the minimal discourse as well as its traces in the story, "Çöl".
