Abstract

One of the fundamental reasons that turns "Bakhtiyar Vahapzade, the Voice of Independence" a poetic voice is social and political life experiences. Vahapzade's poetic power was always enforced by the negated life experience. One of his negated life experiences is his identification as the "other". This study will focus on how the concept of the "other" was developed and how the poet gave the term of otherness its meaning, and it will also deal how the poet established the connection between his cultural environment, in which he was grown up, and the "other".
