The Spiritual Associations in Sepetçioğlu’s First Five Novels dealing with the Establishment of the Ottoman Empire

Abstract
In many Turkish novels, the conquest of Anatolia, the foundation and organization of the Ottomans Empire are undertaken by various points of view. The novels of M. N. Sepetçioğlu, consisting of 13 volumes named "The Series of Yesterday's Turkey" has a privilaged place among these works. The most significant feature of the novels mentioned here is to base the settlement of Turks in Anatolia on the certain, wellknown and historical datas. As is known and as Ömer Lütfi Barkan and Fuad Köprülü point out by scientific data, these associations founded in Anatolia and the Balkans have an important role in establishment of the state and the goverment.
This study deals with how these spiritual associations take place in the outhor's novels, namely Kilit (the Lock), Anahtar (the Key), Kapı (the Gate), Konak (the Mansion) and Çatı (the Roof), the subject of which is the Turkish history in Anatolia.
