Abstract

Mustafa Necati Sepetcioglu was a writer and an intellectual who wrote historical novels and epics reached widely to the readers. He wrote about Turkish history from a perspective of history writing as a whole. He divided his writings into two sections: First, novels that focus on written Turkish history; second, epics that deal with the early period of Turkish history. He wrote Yaratılış ve Türeyiş on the basis of re-writing and literary transformation method. This book uses seven Turkish epics, namely, Yaradılış, Türeyiş, Göç, Bozkurt, Oğuz Kağan, Şu and Ergenekon, as a main text, without taking into account of chronology.

The aesthetic value of any literary text can be evaluated according to parodic and ontological concepts. To re-write a main text without making any change leaves the new text at parodical level. Adding contemporary values into the new text increases it to ontological level. The new text at the ontological level also contains parodical level, so its aesthetic and artistic value will be high.

This study examines Yaratılış ve Türeyiş in terms of intertextuality methods which are quotation, reference, allusion, pastish, collage, mounting, cliche.
