The Usage of Language in Fictionalising of the Historical Time: The M.N. Sepetçioğlu Model

Abstract

One of most important aspects of historical novel is to fictionalise the historical time. In our literature the well-known historical novel writer, Mustafa Necati Sepetçioğlu describes the far and new historical background of Anatolia and Cyprus in his triology, Dünkü Türkiye, Bugünki Türkiye and Sabır Ağacı. This paper will focus on the usage of language in the fictionalising process of historical periods in these works.
