Abstract

The patrons of the two contemporary buildings were from the same culture.The Sultan of the Anatolian Seljuk, İzzeddin Keykavus I. built the hospital and Zeyneddin Beşare Bey, the Emir of Sultan İzzeddin Keykavus, built the Mosque in Niğde. Related to a cosmic diagram with its architectural structure and decorations the both buildings represent a series of subtly used symbols. The hospital in Sivas and the mosque in Niğde are precise two examples of Anatolian Seljuk virtue of preserving their original cultural values. They subtly merged ali their cultural assets through keen synthesis and fusion of the former cultural values with the Islamic values.
