Ebubekir Eroğlu’s poem “Yol Elçisi” is a text that contains important clues about his poetry. In the fiction of “Yol Elçisi”, which is a text that is suitable to think along with mental purification and self-realization themes in classical literature, it is possible to say that three significant themes have been processed together. In this context, the text includes references to the self-realization process in a poetic meaning, to the steps of mental purification and spiritual elevation process, and to the decency and acquittal of the parts that are responsible for human to become a competent being. Ultimately correlative themes reaches integrity in the poem. Thus, Eroğlu restructures “travel” themed masnavi in classical literature with an approach that accepts the tough process of reaching heaven and becoming perfect human being equal to self-realization process in our age. Although it might be guessed that Ibn Arabi’s approach about the acquittal and decency of eight parts of human and Attar’s Mantıku’t-Tayr which tells the seven valleys those represent the steps of spiritual elevation and mental purification inspired Eroğlu, he had re-written the mental journey theme as a selfrealization process and thus, renewed and updated a classical form in a modern poetry aesthetics. In purpose of reaching identifications about Eroğlu’s poetry, the eight texts that constitute the poem “Yol Elçisi” were interpreted seperately and a general evaluation was made.
