Living Public Beliefs on Transition Period (Birth, Marriage, Cirumcision, ect.) in Samsun Region and Related Practices

Abstract
The traditional beliefs, which are separated from any religious teachings, are Üıe customs that generally accepted by public. These traditional beliefs are based on people's opinions that something's are considered as lucky or ill-omened. The traditional beliefs in Anatolia are directly related to the life styles and history. Therefore they are highly effective in fıguring out the public's actions. İn the compilation study of the traditional beliefs in Samsun region, it is observed that these traditional beliefs, especially those related with birth, circumcision feast, marriage and death are great in number, wide spread and effective among the people.
