Abstract

Western Thought and Islamic Mysticism is a book edited from one of the conferences of Necip Fazıl Kısakürek. In this article, Kısakürek makes a comparison between philosophy, one of the most important producers of Western civilisation and Islamic mysticism, one of the most important producers of Islamic culture. The book which can also be viewed as a comparison between Western and Islamic mentality, mentions the relationship between religion and philosophy. By these analyses, it focuses on the crisis areas in Western and Islamic culture, and thus offers solutions. Besides, "double wing" metaphore can be seen as a solution against the crisis of civilisation visible in both Eastern and Western cultures.
