Abstract

The spiritual journey and the cases that occur in this process and spiritual witnessing (mushahada) have an important place in sufi thought. These personal experiences are usually expressed by the sufi poets within the language of poetry. In addition, many Divan poets, sufi or not, wrote a number of poems within the framework of mystical thought. Zatî, the 16th century poet, expressed such a spiritual rise and what he observed in his "gördüm" (I saw) rhymed ghazel.
