Abstract
A remarkable example of utopia in Turkish literature is Simeranya which Peyami Safa wrote in his book Yalnızız published in 1951. Simeranya emerges as an alternative to prose which is full of shortcomings. Simeranya, which is scarttered in Yalnızız is a kind of wish belonging to Samim who is in a gloomy atmosphere. At the same time, Simeranya is valuable in view of being an example for utopia which is widespread in Western literature. In this framework, Safa's novel Yalnızız and Simeranya appears in a form that can be made inter-textual analyses with the remarkable works of its kind worldwide.
