Peyami Safa in his World of Thought as integrated to his Novelist Character in the 50Th Anniversary of his Death

Abstract

Peyami Safa's almost all the works, in particular the novels and anecdotes representing the strongest side of him, are the product of a vast knowledge. Thus, with the new opinions and feelings that he brought to literature he leads us to the new synthesis formed by Turkish national culture. According to Safa, all good scientists, in order to discover beauty, truth, and reality, must be objective and neutral, and should "think with words" and for this purpose should be in constant contact with the literature. This study attempts at studying Peyami Safa's world of ideas in the interconnection with his identity as novelist.
