Psychoanalysis of a Psychonalyst Novelist: An Essay on Peyami Safa’s Psychoanalysis in his Novel Yalnızız

Abstract

Since the early 20th century, especially works of Freud and his followers on psychoanalysis and psychoanalytical studies regarding the artists and arts have created new perspectives in literature. In this context, a wide area extending from the smallest piece of the text to the authors themselves became a material of psychoanalytic analysis. The subject of this article is "psychoanalysis of the writer" and it aims to explore the secret strategies of the authors in their works. Assuming the text is actually a reflection of the author's subconsciousness, it tries to discover the hidden meanings behind the internal connections.

This paper tries to analyse Peyami Safa's novel Yalnızız in terms of the psychoanalysis of its author.
